Day Kimball Healthcare (DKH) continues to take necessary steps to prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses, including coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In March 2020, the health system announced the implementation of temporary visitation restrictions to curtail foot traffic at Day Kimball Hospital, and expanded temporary visitation protocols to its Day Kimball Medical Group (DKMG) and outpatient sites.
To minimize the continued evolving risks of transmission in the community, DKH is restricting visitors to all Hospital departments and waiting areas. Here is the latest information regarding DKH's visitor restrictions:
All visitors will continue to be screened for risk factors of COVID-19. All visitors will continue to be required to wear a face covering at all times while they are in the hospital. If a visitor has high risk factors or shows symptoms of illness we will ask that an alternate visitor be identified, as this person will not be allowed in the hospital or clinical settings.
In very limited circumstances, exceptions may be made to this visiting policy at the discretion of medical and/or nursing leadership. These temporary accompaniment restrictions will remain in effect until further notice.
DKH understands these measures may create a significant hardship for both patients and families. However, DKH believes that at this time this is the best way to protect the vulnerable patients who have trusted DKH with their care.
DKH recognizes that interacting with friends and family can be helpful to the healing process and strongly encourages everyone to utilize other forms of support for their loved ones, such as phone calls, video chats on cell phones or other mobile devices.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we continue to make patient health and safety our top priority.
